Faith and Knowledge — Understanding Truth
Truth is one. Our relation with it can be through faith or through direct knowing of it.
सच्ची बातको मान लेनेका नाम ‘श्रद्धा’ है और सच्ची बातको जान लेनेका नाम ‘ज्ञान’ है।
Accepting what is true is called faith (shraddha), and knowing what is true is called knowledge (gyan).
Two Ways of Relating to Truth
When truth is accepted with trust in its truth, it is faith (shraddha). When the same truth is clearly seen, it is knowledge (gyan).
The truth itself does not change. Only the clarity of it changes.
Truth remains the same — it is either accepted as faith or clearly known as knowledge.
What Faith Means Here
Faith (shraddha) does not mean blind belief. It means accepting what is true with trust in its truth, even if it is not yet clearly known.
It allows openness toward truth.
Faith is accepting truth with trust.
What Knowledge Means
Knowledge (gyan) is direct knowing. When truth is clearly understood, there is no need to believe or accept — it becomes obvious.
When something is clearly known, it no longer needs to be accepted.
Knowledge is direct clarity — nothing needs to be believed.
A Simple Understanding
When something is not yet clear, it is accepted with faith. When it becomes clear, it is known.
In both, the truth is the same.
Acceptance remains until clarity comes.
Faith accepts truth. Knowledge knows it directly. The truth itself does not change.
