Rebirth: Why It May Not Be Desirable?
“The cycle of life and death continues, but true liberation lies in breaking free from it.”
– Ancient Wisdom
People often wonder, what is so undesirable about being born again and again? As we progress further into the present age of Kali Yuga (the age of strife), life becomes more entangled with challenges and suffering. Spiritual research has revealed that, on average, a person experiences happiness for only 30% of their life, sadness for 40%, and remains indifferent or neutral for the remaining 30%. For example, when someone walks on a path or performs mundane tasks, they are neither overtly happy nor sad—they are merely engaged in their actions.
Why is this the case?
The primary reason is that most individuals operate at a lower spiritual level. As a result, many of our decisions and actions inadvertently cause harm to others or contribute to the spread of negative energies in the environment. These actions increase our negative karmic debt and the ledger of “give and take” that binds us to the cycle of birth and death. Consequently, for the majority of people, future lives tend to be more painful than the current one.
“Even as the world advances economically, scientifically, and technologically, we remain poorer in achieving true happiness.”
The Pursuit of Happiness
We all desire happiness. Yet, it is our shared experience that suffering inevitably enters our lives. The question arises: can we ensure supreme and eternal happiness in our next life or the lives thereafter? The answer lies in spiritual growth. Only through spiritual progress and achieving oneness with the Divine can we attain uninterrupted and everlasting bliss.
Modern Progress, Ancient Loss
While the world has made significant advancements in economic, scientific, and technological fields, we find ourselves lagging in the true purpose of life: achieving sustainable happiness. The pursuit of material success often leads to fleeting joy, leaving us disconnected from the deeper essence of life—spiritual fulfillment.
Breaking the Cycle
Breaking free from the cycle of birth and rebirth requires us to elevate our spiritual consciousness. Here are some steps to consider:
- Spiritual Discipline: Commit to daily spiritual practices such as meditation, prayer, and self-reflection.
- Understanding Karma: Be mindful of your actions, ensuring they contribute to positive energy and minimize harm to others.
- Seeking Divine Guidance: Surrender to the higher power, aligning your life with universal truths.
- Detachment: Reduce attachment to material possessions and transient pleasures, focusing on eternal values.
“True liberation comes not from the absence of life, but from transcending its cyclical nature.”
Moral
Rebirth is not inherently undesirable, but the cycle of birth and death traps us in transient experiences of joy and sorrow. By pursuing spiritual growth, we can transcend this cycle and attain eternal bliss and liberation.
