Favorable and Unfavorable Circumstances
Life does not move in one mood alone.
At times, everything feels smooth and supportive. At other times, things feel uncertain and difficult. Both come, and both pass.
We call one favorable and the other unfavorable. But this distinction is created by our preference. This unfolding itself does not divide.
Preference creates division. This movement remains whole.

This simple diagram reflects how both favorable and unfavorable circumstances flow within the same movement, creating balance and deeper understanding.
“The favorable or unfavorable circumstances that come are for our benefit only.”
This simple insight, shared by saints, carries a deep truth. There is an unseen order in this unfolding, where nothing comes without purpose.
What we welcome feels right. What we resist feels wrong.
Yet beyond this, both are part of the same flow — guiding life in ways that may not be immediately understood.
Favorable situations bring ease. They allow a sense of openness and comfort.
Unfavorable situations bring depth. They slow things down and reveal what usually goes unnoticed.
Just as seasons change without resistance, this movement too flows through different phases.
There is something within that quietly watches all this… unchanged.
Perhaps nothing in life is truly against us.
“What we call good or bad is often just a limited view of a much larger unfolding.”
Nothing arrives without meaning. Nothing stays forever.
What feels favorable today may change tomorrow. What feels difficult now may later reveal its value.
In a deeper sense, every situation participates in growth — not by its very nature.
Ease expands. Difficulty refines.
Favorable brings comfort. Unfavorable brings depth.
Together, they create balance in the journey.
There is no need to hold on to one or push away the other. Both are temporary. Both belong to the same flow.
Every circumstance carries its own meaning, whether seen immediately or revealed over time.
And in that understanding, a quiet trust begins to emerge — that life, in all its forms, is already in harmony.
Nothing to resist. Nothing to hold. Just a gentle acceptance of what is.
And slowly… everything finds its place.
